Writer. Poet. Creator. 

Yaz is a self-taught screenwriter and poet from Chicago, Illinois. In May 2023, she graduated Denison University with a B.A. in Psychology and Cinema Studies. At Denison, Yaz served as the co-founder, facilitator, stage manager, writer, and performer in HERE US – a theater production that features original work written, workshopped, and performed by Denison artists of color. In Spring 2023, Yaz won the coveted role of Student Commencement speaker at Denison's 182nd Annual Commencement. Currently, Yaz is an aspiring showrunner and has dedicated her life to telling real stories about real people.

HERE US 2020

First original production. Virtual due to the Covid pandemic. Work was completed and recorded in the Fall of 2020.

HERE US 2022

Second year production in Spring of 2022. Workshopped, rehearsed, and performed from September to March. Work was performed live for three nights and recorded.
